China's Industry Ministry Investigates Car Production Consistency

China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) has revealed cases where over ten car models did not comply with production consistency standards for 2025. This action aims to regulate competition within the automotive sector and uphold product quality and safety.

The inspections uncovered several types of non-compliance. The most frequent issues involved discrepancies between sample vehicle parameters and official product announcements, or missing safety equipment like warning triangles and incorrect side panel heights. Companies implicated include Dongfeng Commercial Vehicle, XCMG Environmental Technology, and Hunan Wufeng Machinery, among others.

Further issues included non-compliant lighting systems on some vehicles, failing to meet national safety standards. Other vehicles had exterior dimensions that did not adhere to regulations. Additionally, anti-splash systems and protective devices on certain models were found to be non-compliant with relevant national standards.

In response, MIIT has implemented measures such as ordering rectifications, suspending or revoking product announcements, and halting the electronic transmission of certificates for non-compliant products. The ministry urged all vehicle manufacturers to heed these findings and reinforce their production consistency and quality assurance capabilities.
