China's Largest Mountain Wind Power Project Connects to Grid
China Datang's Julongliang wind farm expansion, the country's largest wind power project in mountainous terrain, has achieved full grid connection. The facility will supply 462 million kilowatt-hours of clean electricity annually.

China Datang announced that its Julongliang wind farm expansion project, the largest wind power installation in China's mountainous terrain by single unit capacity, achieved full grid connection on July 19. The project is located in Xundian County, Kunming City, Yunnan Province.
The expansion project has a total installed capacity of 158.22 megawatts. It features 3 wind turbines with a capacity of 8.34 megawatts each and 12 turbines with a capacity of 11.1 megawatts each, making it the largest single-unit capacity wind farm in challenging high-altitude terrain in China.
Upon reaching full operational capacity, the wind farm is projected to deliver 462 million kilowatt-hours of clean electricity per year. This is expected to save approximately 140,000 tons of standard coal and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 380,000 tons annually, supporting China's renewable energy targets.
This development represents a significant step in expanding renewable energy infrastructure in difficult geographical areas within China.
