China's Postal Industry Handles 108.9 Billion Parcels in H1 2026
China's postal industry handled a cumulative total of 108.89 billion parcels in the first half of 2026, marking a 4.2% increase year-on-year. Overall business revenue grew by 6.0%.

The postal industry in China processed a significant volume of deliveries during the first half of 2026, handling 108.89 billion parcels, a 4.2% rise compared to the same period in the previous year. Express delivery services accounted for the bulk of this volume, reaching 100.38 billion parcels, up 5.0% year-on-year.
Total business revenue for the postal sector increased by 6.0% to 925.6 billion yuan (approximately $127.7 billion USD). Revenue from express delivery services alone climbed 7.3% to 771.41 billion yuan. While domestic long-distance deliveries saw a 6.1% increase, local deliveries declined by 8.4%.
Cross-border logistics also experienced growth, with international and Hong Kong/Macao/Taiwan parcel volume increasing by 6.6%. Other postal services showed mixed performance: letter volume grew significantly by 20.7%, while newspaper and magazine delivery volumes decreased by 5.0% and 5.4% respectively. Package delivery volume, however, saw a substantial rise of 13.8%.
Regional shifts were also observed. The eastern regions, which traditionally handle the largest share of logistics, saw a slight decrease in their proportion of both revenue and volume. Conversely, the central and western regions increased their share, indicating a dispersal of logistics activity across the country.
Analysis of brand concentration for express services showed a slight dip in revenue concentration (CR8 index) but remained stable for volume. Public satisfaction with express services was recorded at 85.0 points for the second quarter.
