Chinese Academy of Social Sciences establishes Global Civilization Institute

The Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) announced today the official establishment of the Global Civilization Institute. This new, high-level academic platform is intended to deepen the understanding of global civilizations and their interactions.

The institute's formation aligns with the objective of strengthening the international standing of Chinese civilization. It will focus on producing high-quality research in key areas, including the theoretical foundations of civilization, comparative civilization studies, and the impact of artificial intelligence on global development.

Moving forward, the institute plans to undertake initiatives such as research and interpretation of the "Global Civilization Initiative" and the compilation of an annual "Blue Book on Civilizational Exchange and Mutual Learning." The development of a comprehensive global civilization research database is also part of its agenda. These efforts are designed to support national strategic needs and provide intellectual foundations for building a community with a shared future for mankind.

CASS serves as China's principal research institution for philosophy and social sciences, operating directly under the State Council. The establishment of this institute signifies a strategic investment in international academic and cultural discourse.
