The Chinese single-player action game 'Annihilation Tide', which has received investment from Tencent, has confirmed its participation in Gamescom 2026 in Cologne, Germany. The game will offer a playable demo to attendees from August 26-30 at the event, located at stand B-050 in Hall 6.
Additionally, sign-ups for the game's first offline playtest opened on July 15 and will continue until July 23. Participants will experience a standalone level and two boss challenges, offering an early glimpse into the game's narrative.
Developed by Eclipse Edge Studio using the Unreal Engine 5, 'Annihilation Tide' is a buy-to-play fantasy action title inspired by Arthurian legends. The game is being developed by Chengdu Eclipse Edge Studio and is slated for release on PC and consoles. A specific release date has not yet been announced.
Company records indicate that Shenzhen Tencent Tianyou Technology Limited is the largest shareholder in Chengdu Eclipse Edge Studio, holding a 95% stake, underscoring Tencent's investment in domestic game development talent.
