The animated film "Three Kingdoms: Battle for Luoyang" has been re-released in China today, following its earlier withdrawal from theaters. The movie was originally scheduled for release on July 10 but was pulled on July 25 due to underperforming box office results.

Despite receiving a generally positive reception, evidenced by its 8.0 rating on the Douban film platform, the movie's initial box office performance was modest. It garnered just over 80 million yuan in its first 15 days of release, prompting the decision to reschedule.

"Three Kingdoms: Battle for Luoyang" is the first film in the "Three Kingdoms" series produced by Zhi Guang Animation. The movie is directed by Xie Junwei, known for his work on "Chang'an", with a screenplay by Wang Wei, who also contributed to "Chang'an", "White Snake", and "New Gods: Yang Jian".

The film depicts the tumultuous period at the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty, a time of widespread conflict and the rise of various warlords. The narrative focuses on the struggle for control over the city of Luoyang and introduces historical figures such as Cao Cao, Yuan Shao, and Liu Bei in their formative years.
