Chinese automakers negotiate EU hybrid vehicle export quotas
Major Chinese automotive firms are meeting with officials in Beijing to determine the allocation of limited hybrid vehicle export quotas to the European Union.

Several Chinese automotive manufacturers have convened in Beijing to negotiate the distribution of export quotas for hybrid vehicles destined for the European Union market. According to industry sources, the total quota is constrained, leading to active lobbying by individual companies to secure sufficient export volumes.
The discussions follow a bilateral agreement reached between China and the European Union in October, designed to govern hybrid vehicle trade in compliance with World Trade Organization rules. China's Ministry of Commerce previously confirmed an export baseline of 302,000 units for 2025, with provisions for additional capacity to ensure stable market growth.
These negotiations are critical as manufacturers seek to stabilize their European operations. The final allocation of these limited quotas will determine the extent to which each Chinese firm can sustain its market presence in the EU throughout the coming year.
