Chinese Brands to Represent One Third of Automakers at Paris Motor Show
A record 20 Chinese car brands will exhibit at the 2026 Paris Motor Show, accounting for roughly one-third of the approximately 60 automakers attending. This marks a doubling of Chinese participation from the previous show.

The 2026 Paris Motor Show, opening October 12, will feature a record 20 Chinese automotive brands, representing approximately one-third of the estimated 60 manufacturers set to exhibit. This contingent signifies a doubling of Chinese participation compared to the 2024 event.
Established Chinese manufacturers such as BYD and Chery will be joined by newcomers including Aito and Avatr. These companies are expanding their European presence, primarily with electric and hybrid vehicles. Aito, for instance, plans to unveil four premium electric SUVs tailored for the European market and aims to boost its overseas sales to 20% of its total within three years, up from less than 1% currently.
European manufacturers are also expected to introduce new models as competition intensifies. François Roudier, secretary-general of the International Organization of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers (OICA), commented that the influx of Chinese brands has helped reinvigorate interest in motor shows, particularly as some traditional automakers have scaled back their participation.
