Chinese optical-module manufacturers are responding to reports of potential US Federal Communications Commission restrictions on data-center component imports. Companies stated they are monitoring the situation or awaiting official confirmation.
Several Chinese makers of optical modules have commented on a Bloomberg report suggesting the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is considering new restrictions on imports of Chinese data-center components, such as optical transceivers.
Zhongji Innolight, a prominent optical-module manufacturer, stated that no official document has been issued by the FCC regarding these potential restrictions. Eoptolink, another key player, confirmed it is closely monitoring the situation and could not independently verify the authenticity of the report.
While TFC, also an optical-module supplier, indicated it is assessing the potential impact of such measures, the companies' statements collectively leave the reported restrictions unconfirmed. It remains unclear whether a new import rule has been enacted or if it will affect their operations.
