Chinese FPS Game "Resistance Fighter" Releases New Gameplay Trailer, Confirms ChinaJoy 2026 Presence
Domestic Chinese FPS game "Resistance Fighter" has released a new gameplay trailer and confirmed its participation in the 2026 ChinaJoy expo. The title will be available for public hands-on play for the first time at the event.
"Resistance Fighter," a domestically developed first-person shooter (FPS) game set against the backdrop of China's War of Resistance against Japanese aggression, released a new gameplay trailer on Tuesday. Developer Hangzhou Haotang Technology also confirmed the game's appearance at the 2026 ChinaJoy expo in Shanghai, where it will offer public playtesting.
The game, set in the 1940s, is built using the Unreal Engine 5. It aims to deliver an immersive experience by recreating historical locations such as Shanghai's Shikumen architectural style. Hangzhou Haotang Technology, a studio of approximately 30 individuals, is led by founder Kong Yuheng, who previously worked on shooting game projects for companies like NetEase.
"Resistance Fighter" blends espionage puzzle-solving with action shooter elements. Players will engage in resistance activities from various character perspectives across different Chinese battlefields. The game reportedly features four major chapters, themed around the four seasons, with an expected total playtime exceeding 10 hours.
Gameplay mechanics showcased in previous reveals include stealth, street combat, chase sequences, and open-field battles, along a campaign structure similar to the "Call of Duty" series. The 2026 ChinaJoy, scheduled for July 31 to August 3 at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center, will host the game at booth N1-G201.
The game is currently available on Steam, supporting simplified Chinese voice-over and subtitles. A specific release date has not yet been announced.
