A domestically produced nuclear-grade ion exchange resin has successfully passed an authoritative product appraisal by the China Nuclear Energy Industry Association, according to an IT Home report. This represents a significant advancement in the development of domestic materials for the nuclear power sector.

Hainan Nuclear Power has become the first nuclear power enterprise in China to complete the verification of domestically produced nuclear-grade resin in a commercial reactor's primary circuit. This involved real-world operational condition testing, confirming the material's performance and reliability.

The development of this resin is the result of collaborative efforts between Hainan Nuclear Power, the China Nuclear Power Research and Design Institute, and Xi'an Lanxiao Technology. This achievement has established a complete technological closed-loop system, encompassing research and development, manufacturing, external evaluation, and in-reactor verification.

The new resin is adaptable to mainstream reactor types, including the Hualong One. The successful localization of this critical material bolsters China's capability in exporting nuclear power equipment and technology, reinforcing the nation's self-sufficiency in key chemical materials for nuclear energy.
