Nigerian technology firm ChipMango has secured $1.9 million in seed funding to expand its chip design operations internationally. The company plans to use the capital to grow its engineering and product teams and increase its presence across Africa, Europe, and the United States.

Founded in 2022, ChipMango partners with semiconductor companies to offer industry-aligned learning and certification programs. Its AI-powered platform provides custom labs and curated content designed to enhance microelectronics curricula for educational institutions.

The funding round was led by Atlantica Ventures, with participation from DFS Labs, Madica, Kaleo Ventures, Trilinear Technologies, and Malta Ventures. ChipMango is also planning a design center in Malta and aims to support semiconductor and AI infrastructure initiatives in Rwanda.

This expansion coincides with a global rise in demand for semiconductor and AI infrastructure capabilities. This trend is creating opportunities for engineering talent in emerging markets to engage in more complex segments of the technology supply chain.
