Christoph Meinecke to lead VNZV from 2027
Christoph Meinecke will assume the role of Managing Director for the Verband Nordwestdeutscher Zeitungsverlage und Digitalpublisher e.V. (VNZV) effective January 1, 2027. He succeeds Stefan Borrmann, who is retiring.
Christoph Meinecke is set to become the new Managing Director of the Verband Nordwestdeutscher Zeitungsverlage und Digitalpublisher e.V. (VNZV) starting January 1, 2027. Meinecke currently serves as Deputy General Manager for the Employers' Associations of Lower Saxony (UVN).
Meinecke will replace Stefan Borrmann, who is retiring at the beginning of 2027. Borrmann has led the VNZV for 26 years, and his contributions were explicitly recognized by the organization.
Alongside the leadership change, VNZV will deepen its cooperation with UVN, with UVN taking over the operational association work. VNZV will maintain its full legal independence, continuing to advocate for the interests of Lower Saxony's newspapers with political and economic stakeholders.
The VNZV's administrative office will relocate to UVN's premises. The association assures members and partners that the service offering will remain unchanged. VNZV will continue to focus on key initiatives such as media literacy projects and support for journalism in Lower Saxony.
