Christopher Nolan's latest film, 'The Odyssey,' released in the U.S. on July 17, has reportedly seen a full-length, high-definition version leak onto social media platform X over the past weekend. The leaked copy is stated to be 2 hours and 53 minutes long.
Thousands of users were able to access the film through social media channels. Following notification, the X platform has removed the majority of the infringing material. However, related shares and comments persist online, with some users reportedly using the situation to share memes and misleading links.
Reports indicate that unauthorized viewings of 'The Odyssey' have surpassed 2.1 million. Universal Pictures has confirmed its awareness of the unauthorized distribution and stated, "We have become aware of an unauthorized publication of the film and have immediately initiated the takedown process. We take infringement very seriously and will take all appropriate measures to protect intellectual property."
Despite the piracy issue, the film achieved a strong opening weekend, grossing $264.1 million globally, marking the best opening weekend of Nolan's career to date.
