Chrysler and Stellantis recall Jeep vehicles over power steering defect
Chrysler (China) and Stellantis (Shanghai) are recalling over 28,000 Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator vehicles due to a manufacturing defect in the power steering pump connector.

Chrysler (China) and Stellantis (Shanghai) have initiated a recall for a significant number of imported Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator vehicles. The action covers units manufactured between August 2020 and October 2024, citing concerns over electrical connectivity issues within the power steering system.
The recall stems from a manufacturing fault where the pin header in the electro-hydraulic power steering pump connector does not meet specifications. This defect can lead to intermittent electrical connections, resulting in a loss of power steering assistance. Additionally, the potential for overheating at the connector site poses a fire risk, according to filings with the State Administration for Market Regulation.
The companies have committed to inspecting the pump connectors and wiring harnesses free of charge. In instances where components are found to be incorrectly seated or faulty, parts will be replaced to restore full functionality and address the safety hazard.
