Chunghwa Telecom reports Q3 2026 revenue growth of 16.7 percent
Chunghwa Telecom exceeded its third-quarter guidance, posting a 16.7 percent increase in revenue to NT$ 67.59 billion. Net income rose by 29.5 percent compared to the same period last year.
Taiwan-based Chunghwa Telecom reported consolidated revenue of NT$ 67.59 billion for the third quarter of 2026, marking a 16.7 percent year-over-year increase. Net income attributable to stockholders reached NT$ 12.22 billion, a 29.5 percent rise, driven by strong core telecommunications performance and expanding ICT services.
Chairman and CEO Chih-Cheng Chien stated that the results represent the company's strongest third-quarter performance since 2009. Revenue growth was bolstered by high 5G smartphone penetration, which has reached approximately 50 percent, and a 52 percent increase in high-speed broadband subscriptions of 1Gbps or higher. A one-off gain from asset revitalization also contributed to the quarter's profitability.
The Enterprise Business Group served as a significant growth engine, with ICT-related revenue climbing 19 percent compared to the previous year. While total operating expenses rose 14 percent to NT$ 52.21 billion due to increased project costs and talent retention efforts, the company maintained an operating margin of 22.65 percent.
Looking ahead, the company plans to emphasize its AI strategy through partnerships with Google and internal initiatives like CHT InventAI. These efforts aim to enhance enterprise AI capabilities and smart city applications, supporting the company's long-term sustainability goals.
