Cirkla, Belmark, and Ossid Launch Resealable Fiber Tray Packaging
Cirkla, Belmark, and Ossid have collaborated to introduce an integrated fiber tray packaging solution featuring resealable lidding film, aiming for commercial scale across food categories.

Packaging companies Cirkla, Belmark, and Ossid have partnered to launch an integrated packaging solution that combines fiber trays with resealable lidding film for the first time at a commercial scale. This new offering is designed for various food applications, including fresh protein, produce, and ready meals.
Cirkla provides the high-performance fiber trays, which have demonstrated the ability to reduce plastic waste by up to 90% and meet or exceed plastic alternatives in shelf life and barrier properties. Belmark contributes its advanced resealable lidding film technology, while Ossid supplies the automated sealing equipment. Together, they address the technical challenge of bonding resealable film to a fiber substrate without compromising the tray's liner.
Cirkla has seen significant commercial traction with its fiber packaging. The company's trays are described as "plug-and-play," compatible with existing sealing machinery without requiring new capital investment. Cirkla's first U.S. manufacturing facility is scheduled to begin operations in Gainesville, Georgia, in the first quarter of 2027.
Jason Vandeloo, Director of Business Development at Belmark, noted that innovation requires collaboration across disciplines. Andrew Birdwell, Vice President of Sales at Ossid, added that the partnership overcame a long-standing industry challenge. The new packaging solution will be showcased at The Global Produce and Floral Show in Orlando and Pack Expo in Chicago in October 2026.
