Cisco Appoints Girish Rishi to Board of Directors

Cisco has appointed Girish Rishi as a member of its board of directors, with the appointment effective October 9, 2026.

Rishi brings over three decades of technology leadership experience to Cisco's board. His expertise spans areas including data and artificial intelligence, product development, supply chain management, and mergers and acquisitions.

The appointment comes as Cisco continues to focus on providing the infrastructure necessary for organizations to operate and innovate in the AI era. "His expertise will be invaluable as Cisco provides organizations around the world with the critical infrastructure required to lead in the AI era," said Chuck Robbins, Chair and CEO of Cisco.

Currently, Rishi serves as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Cognite, an industrial AI company. He has held previous executive leadership roles at companies such as Blue Yonder, Tyco International, and Motorola Solutions. He also serves as a Senior Advisor to Blackstone.

Cisco aims to equip customers with solutions that enhance productivity, strengthen digital resilience, and unlock innovation. Rishi's background in data and AI is expected to support the company's ongoing development and strategic direction.
