Car-sharing network Citiz released figures on its economic and regional impact during European Mobility Week, held from September 16–22, 2026. The cooperative reported that its service has generated purchasing power gains for its 130,000 customers across France.
According to Citiz, its model helps reduce individual car ownership costs, such as fuel, insurance, maintenance, and parking. The company stated that this approach also contributes to local economies and environmental sustainability by decreasing traffic congestion and the demand for parking spaces in urban areas.
The network operates over 2,800 vehicles available 24/7 to its members in numerous French cities and communities. Citiz offers an alternative to private car use, aiming to make transportation more accessible and affordable.
