Citizen Releases Limited-Edition Spider-Man Watch Featuring Marvel Illustrator's Artwork
Citizen has unveiled a limited-edition Spider-Man timepiece featuring original artwork by Marvel illustrator Adam Kubert. Released ahead of Spider-Man Day, the watch also highlights Citizen's 50th anniversary of its Eco-Drive technology.
Watchmaker Citizen has released a new limited-edition timepiece inspired by the iconic Marvel character Spider-Man. The watch features original artwork created exclusively for Citizen by acclaimed Marvel Comics illustrator Adam Kubert.
Launched ahead of Spider-Man Day on August 1, the collectible design aims to bring Spider-Man's signature comic book style to the wrist. The dial displays an illustration by Kubert depicting Spider-Man swinging through a cityscape, rendered in a way that reflects the character's comic book origins.
The collaboration coincides with Citizen's celebration of the 50th anniversary of its proprietary Eco-Drive technology, which powers watches using light. This partnership merges elements of storytelling, collectible culture, and horology.
Key details for fans include the "THWIP" sound effect, referencing Spider-Man's web-slinging action, engraved on both the dial and caseback. The watch is housed in a 43mm gray ion-plated stainless steel case with a matching bracelet and includes a collectible pin. Production is capped at 1,500 pieces worldwide.
