City of Goslar launches online services via OpenR@thaus platform

The City of Goslar has launched its first online services through the OpenR@thaus software platform. Citizens can now access 14 basic services, such as applying for certificates, registering dog taxes, or submitting business registrations, via the service portal service.goslar.de. The city plans to gradually expand this offering to create a comprehensive service portal for the entire district.

At the launch, Goslar's Mayor Dr. Oliver Junk, along with departmental heads and IT specialists, presented the new online service. The platform allows citizens to apply for and pay for administrative services around the clock, from any location and on mobile devices, with payment options including PayPal and GiroPay.

Mayor Junk emphasized that providing digital access to municipal services is not just a convenience but a fundamental right for citizens. He stated that expanding digital offerings is a priority to better serve residents, particularly those in employment.

The project was developed in collaboration with ITEBO, Goslar district, and several local municipalities. The goal is to establish a unified system where residents can access services from their municipality or the district with a single registration, regardless of administrative jurisdiction. Neighbouring municipalities like Bad Harzburg and Liebenburg are expected to join the platform soon.
