City of Munich selects CGI for digital service advancement

The City of Munich has selected IT and business consulting firm CGI to advance its digital government services and administrative efficiency. CGI will support the city in streamlining administrative processes, expanding digital services for citizens, and strengthening the resilience of its digital service delivery.

As part of the next phase of the city's digital transformation, CGI will focus on improving performance and reducing the effort required to implement new services. This will be achieved through a scalable delivery model combining local expertise in Munich with specialized capabilities from CGI's European delivery network, including teams in nearshore locations like Bulgaria.

"The digital transformation of public administration requires greater efficiency, stronger digital capabilities, and the responsible use of resources," said Dr. Laura Sophie Dornheim, CDO and IT Director of the City of Munich. "CGI combines a strong understanding of public administration with extensive technological expertise to help deliver digital solutions that improve services for citizens and strengthen the city's digital capabilities over time."

CGI will be responsible for requirements management, digital transformation consulting, system development, and IT security to improve the delivery and quality of services. The firm has a 20-year history of collaboration with Munich on projects including an e-file system rollout for approximately 40,000 employees and smart city applications.
