City representatives sign development consensus at Global Mayors Dialogue
Representatives from 15 countries have issued the 'Ningbo Consensus' to promote industrial cooperation and open trade, aiming to foster urban prosperity.

Delegates from 15 countries finalized the 'Ningbo Consensus' during the 2026 Global Mayors Dialogue held in Ningbo, China. The agreement focuses on three primary pillars: deepening industrial cooperation, maintaining open trade, and strengthening interpersonal exchanges across borders.
The summit, which ran from November 2 to 5, brought together over 260 participants, including mayors from 20 international cities, representatives from the UN Global Compact, and business leaders. The consensus document emphasizes that collaborative industrial growth and resource sharing are essential to maintaining urban prosperity amidst the challenges of global economic integration.
Participants committed to upholding the multilateral trading system and facilitating the orderly flow of production factors. A significant portion of the dialogue was dedicated to ensuring the stability of supply chains and resolving trade disputes through diplomatic engagement rather than protectionist measures.
Beyond economic policy, the signatories pledged to enhance ties in education, culture, and public health. Organized by local government bodies in cooperation with Xinhua News Agency, the event serves as a platform to establish new frameworks for inter-city cooperation and long-term sustainable development.
