CityUHK Ranks 70th in THE World University Rankings

City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) has achieved its highest-ever position in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2027, moving up three places to rank 70th globally.

The university also retained its top spot in Hong Kong for "International Outlook" and ranked first worldwide in the "Industry" pillar for the fourth consecutive year.

According to THE, the rankings evaluated 2,297 institutions across 118 countries. CityUHK demonstrated strong performance across teaching, research environment, and research quality. Phil Baty, Chief Global Affairs Officer at THE, commented on the shifts in global higher education power.

CityUHK secured a perfect score in the "Industry" pillar, highlighting its strengths in technology commercialisation and innovation. The university's "International Outlook" also remained strong, maintaining its leading position in Hong Kong for the ninth year.

The university's academic reputation and research quality have seen improvements, with "Research Quality" entering the global top 50. These achievements are further supported by strong performances in other major rankings, including QS World University Rankings and U.S. News & World Report.
