City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) has achieved its best-ever result in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2027, climbing to 70th globally. The university also retained its world No. 1 position in Industry for the fourth consecutive year.
The City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) has reached its highest-ever ranking in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2027, advancing three places to secure the 70th position globally. This achievement marks a significant milestone for the institution.
CityUHK demonstrated strong performance across various evaluation metrics. Notably, it maintained its world-leading status in the "Industry" pillar for the fourth consecutive year, indicating robust collaboration and knowledge transfer with industrial partners. The university also retained its top position in Hong Kong for "International Outlook."
The THE World University Rankings 2027 assessed 2,297 institutions from 118 countries, utilizing 17 indicators across five core pillars: Teaching, Research Environment, Research Quality, Industry, and International Outlook. CityUHK's perfect score in the "Industry" category underscores its strength in patent development and technology commercialization.
Furthermore, the "Research Quality" pillar saw a substantial leap, placing CityUHK within the top 50 globally. The university also reported improvements in its academic reputation for both teaching and research over the past two years.
