Clarenta acquires majority stake in Leads To Development to boost early-stage drug development
Clarenta has acquired a majority stake in Leads To Development (L2D), enhancing its capabilities to support drug development from early preclinical research through initial human trials.

London – Clarenta announced today that it has acquired a majority stake in Leads To Development (L2D). This strategic move strengthens Clarenta's capacity to assist biotechnology and pharmaceutical sponsors from early preclinical strategy through first-in-human clinical trials and beyond.
The acquisition brings specialized expertise in non-clinical development, manufacturing, and regulatory strategy to Clarenta. This complements Clarenta's existing experience in early drug development consulting and its dedicated early-phase unit, bridging the gap between initial scientific strategy and the execution of early human research.
L2D, based in France, supports innovative biotech and pharma companies by defining development pathways, collecting and evaluating preclinical data, and establishing regulatory strategies. The company will continue to operate from its Paris headquarters, leveraging Clarenta's broader group strengths.
"The addition of L2D to the Clarenta group marks a major step in building the Clarenta of the future," said Chris Smyth, CEO of Clarenta. "Our goal is to help our clients navigate the complexity of the very earliest stages of development. L2D brings deep expertise in the non-clinical, manufacturing, and regulatory arenas that complements our existing strengths."
