ClassDojo Introduces Schoolwide Communication Platform

San Francisco – ClassDojo, a company previously known for its classroom communication app, announced today a suite of new capabilities designed to extend its reach beyond individual classrooms to the entire school community. The platform aims to help school leaders improve communication with families, foster stronger school-home connections, and manage outreach efforts more efficiently.

The expanded offering includes multi-channel announcements, allowing administrators to send messages via email, text, voice, and the mobile app. New integrations with Canva will enable the creation of polished newsletters, and specific tools are being introduced for middle and high school staff to communicate directly with students. A schoolwide engagement dashboard will provide insights into family and staff participation.

"School leaders don't need another tool; they need fewer tools that work better together," said Jeff Buening, General Manager of ClassDojo. "These new capabilities extend that support across the entire school community, helping school leaders communicate more effectively and strengthen family partnerships."

ClassDojo reports that schools implementing the platform schoolwide have seen increased family engagement, with 80% of families reading messages on the day they are received and a 25% rise in active families. The platform also supports direct messaging between teachers and students for secondary schools. Automatic translation into over 190 languages is included to assist schools in reaching multilingual families.

The new school leader tools will be available for the 2026–27 school year and will remain free for schools, teachers, and families. The expansion aims to address the growing communication challenges faced by educational institutions and support the development of positive school cultures.
