Classic Automation Releases Tank/Sump Level Control Application for Panelicity Series 36
Classic Automation has released a new custom automation application for its Panelicity® Series 36 controller, designed for automated Tank/Sump Level Control. The new feature aims to reduce constant monitoring and automate pump functions.

Classic Automation, a supplier of industrial automation parts and repair services, has introduced a new automated application for its Panelicity® Series 36 controller. This application is designed to manage liquid levels in tanks and sumps, aiming to reduce the need for constant manual monitoring and improve workflow efficiency.
The system automatically starts and stops pumps to maintain a target liquid level. It supports Simplex (one pump), Duplex (two pumps), and Triplex (three pumps) configurations for both filling and draining operations. This automation can operate with a single pump, alternating pumps, or fixed lead pump configurations depending on user needs.
Users can configure the system to read tank levels from a liquid level transmitter, float switches, or a combination of both. To ensure operational continuity, if the primary transmitter signal is lost, the controller automatically switches to using float switches and generates a 'Loss of Transmitter Quality' alarm.
For systems with multiple pumps (Duplex and Triplex), the application allows for setting a lead pump or alternating pump usage to equalize runtime and extend motor life. It also monitors individual pump runtime hours for maintenance scheduling purposes.
Additionally, the application provides configurable process alarms for high-high, high, low, and low-low levels, as well as pump temperature and seal failure detection. With an optional Remote I/O Module, specific pump seal failures can be identified without physical inspection. High-temperature alarms automatically stop the affected pump.
