Claude Code Desktop Version Adds In-App Browser
Anthropic's Claude Code desktop application now features a built-in browser, allowing AI developers to read, interact with, and debug web pages directly within the tool.

Anthropic's development tool, Claude Code, designed for desktop environments, has been updated with an integrated in-app browser. Announced via the official ClaudeDevs X account, this feature allows users to read, click, and interact with websites directly within the application.
The new browser pane operates within a separate and clean browser profile, isolated from the user's personal browser. This separation ensures that login states and browsing history are not shared, providing a controlled environment for development tasks. The tool enables developers to view documentation, design mockups, and test web page behavior.
Anthropic suggests the built-in browser is suitable for building and testing applications, as well as accessing websites that do not require login credentials. For more in-depth interactions with web pages, the company still recommends using its Chrome extension.
Claude Code is positioned as a tool for code-related tasks and debugging on desktop platforms. The addition of the in-app browser aims to enhance its utility for developers working with web content and applications.
