ClickFix Attacks Infecting PCs and Macs Go Viral

Independent researcher Kevin Beaumont noted on Thursday that Reddit is seeing a surge of posts from individuals affected by ClickFix attacks. He also observed that legitimate websites are being consistently hacked to serve these fraudulent CAPTCHA prompts.
While more seasoned internet users might dismiss the attack as obvious, its effectiveness lies in targeting less experienced individuals. The increasing complexity of modern online services, such as intrusive pop-ups and demanding CAPTCHA puzzles, can desensitize users, making them more susceptible to executing seemingly unusual commands.
