CME Group reports record daily trading volumes for October
CME Group reached a record average daily volume of 30 million contracts in October, marking a 15% increase compared to the same period last year.

CME Group, a derivatives marketplace operator, reported an average daily volume (ADV) of 30 million contracts for October 2026. This figure represents a 15% increase over the 26.3 million contracts recorded in October 2025, establishing a new monthly record for the firm.
Growth was led by interest rate products, which saw ADV rise by 28%. Activity in U.S. Treasury futures and options was particularly robust, increasing by 48% to 9.2 million contracts. Equity index products also contributed to the growth, with ADV increasing by 15% year-over-year.
International operations saw a 9% increase in volume, with notable growth in the Asia-Pacific region. BrokerTec, the company's fixed-income trading platform, reported an 18% increase in average daily notional value to $1.12 trillion, buoyed by a record performance in the U.S. repo market.
These figures highlight elevated market volatility and hedging activity. CME Group continues to facilitate trading across multiple asset classes, serving institutional clients globally through its clearing and trading infrastructure.
