Cohere launches defense AI accelerator in Singapore
Toronto-based AI firm Cohere has launched a specialized accelerator in Singapore to assist defense and government sectors in scaling secure AI deployments.

Cohere, a Toronto-based enterprise AI company, officially launched a defense AI accelerator in Singapore on November 3. The program is designed to help government agencies and defense organizations move beyond pilot projects into full operational deployments within highly secure, sensitive environments.
The accelerator provides support for testing, system integration, and governance protocols. It specifically caters to technical requirements such as on-premises, hybrid, and air-gapped deployments, ensuring that data remains isolated from public networks where necessary.
This initiative serves as a core component of Cohere’s strategy to quadruple its workforce and operations across the Asia Pacific region by late 2027. The expansion aligns with Singapore's ongoing efforts to integrate AI-enabled capabilities into its national defense infrastructure while evolving its regulatory framework for high-stakes technology.
