Colas awarded contract for west section of Bradford Bypass in Ontario
Colas, through The Miller Group, has been selected by the Ontario government to construct the western section of the Bradford Bypass. The project is valued at 345 million euros and is scheduled for completion in 2030.

Colas, operating in Canada via The Miller Group, has secured a 345 million euro contract from the Ontario government to build the western section of the Bradford Bypass. This four-lane highway project aims to alleviate traffic congestion in York Region and Simcoe County.
Construction is slated to begin in the coming weeks, with substantial completion expected in 2030. The Bradford Bypass will be a 16.3 km controlled-access highway linking Highway 400 in Simcoe County to Highway 404 in York Region. The project will utilize a CMGC (Construction Manager/General Contractor) model, involving the construction company from the early design phases.
The bypass is anticipated to significantly reduce traffic congestion, potentially saving up to 35 minutes on certain journeys. The project is also projected to support approximately 2,200 jobs annually and contribute up to $286 million to Ontario's economy.
François Vachon, President of Colas Canada, stated that the project reflects a strong commitment and close collaboration with the Ontario Ministry of Transportation and design partners. Pierre Vanstoflegatte, CEO of the Colas Group, added that the contract reinforces Colas and The Miller Group's standing as a leading infrastructure constructor in Ontario, a region where the company has operated for over a century.
