Collegiate Cricket League to host Eastern Championship in Virginia
Ten university teams will compete from November 6–8 for three qualifying spots in the national Collegiate Cup.

The Collegiate Cricket League (CCL) will hold its 2026 Eastern Championship from November 6 to 8 at Hal & Berni Hanson Regional Park in Aldie, Virginia. The three-day tournament features ten universities competing in 29 matches to determine which three teams will secure berths in the national Collegiate Cup, scheduled for March 2027 in Fort Lauderdale.
Teams, including participants from the University of Pittsburgh, Rutgers, and Princeton, are organized into two groups. The format includes group-stage play followed by Sunday semifinals and a championship final. The results will finalize the qualifying field for the national championship, joining teams that have already emerged from the league's Western and Midwest regional events.
The tournament serves as part of a broader effort to build a talent pipeline for cricket in the United States, particularly as the sport prepares for its return to the Olympic Games in 2028. The field includes several prominent collegiate athletes, including reigning individual award winners.
