Comic Relief Launches "Neighborhood Festivals" in Los Angeles and Philadelphia

Comic Relief is launching its new "Neighborhood Festivals" series this fall in Los Angeles and Philadelphia, aiming to bring communities together through laughter and local impact. The initiative combines live comedy performances, family-friendly entertainment, and hands-on volunteering opportunities.

The festival series features performances from groups such as The Groundlings and UCB, alongside other entertainment designed for all ages. The core mission is to raise funds and awareness to combat childhood poverty.

Proceeds from the "Neighborhood Festivals" will directly support local programs and organizations working to alleviate childhood poverty in the host cities. This marks the first iteration of what is planned as a nationwide series.

Comic Relief plans to expand the festival concept to other cities in the future, contingent on the success of these inaugural events in Los Angeles and Philadelphia.
