Companies Lagging Behind Consumer Expectations
A new report reveals that only 28% of businesses believe their logistics processes can keep pace with consumer demands for speed, cost, and convenience.

Logistics and supply chain professionals are facing increasing pressure to meet high consumer expectations for fast deliveries, affordable prices, and easy returns. The Körber Supply Chain Benchmarking Report 2022 indicates that only 28% of companies feel their operations can keep up.
The study, which surveyed over 200 companies in North America and Europe, highlights that 72% of organizations struggle to meet end-customer demands. While 92% of respondents acknowledge the critical role of efficient logistics for customer satisfaction, fewer than a third believe their current processes are adequate in terms of speed and service.
The report segmented companies into four maturity levels: leading, advanced, developing, and beginning. Leading companies leverage technologies beyond traditional warehousing and transportation, enabling end-to-end supply chain management. The use of Order Management Systems (OMS) has become particularly crucial for optimizing order processing across the logistics network.
Sustainability and environmental considerations are also gaining prominence, with 89% of companies prioritizing transport optimization. Rene Hermes, EVP and CMO Software at Körber Business Area Supply Chain, emphasizes that investments in technologies enhancing the end-customer experience are vital in today's competitive market.
Körber offers a range of technological solutions and expertise to address supply chain complexities. These include Order Management Systems (OMS), Product Information Management (PIM), and solutions for Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), materials flow control, and robotics.
