CompTIA, a global provider of vendor-neutral IT training and certifications, has released Digital Literacy Pro V3. The updated curriculum is designed to equip students and adult learners with essential digital, AI, and career-focused skills for success in education and the workforce.

The Digital Literacy Pro V3 program consolidates digital literacy, digital citizenship, software applications, keyboarding, and AI fundamentals into a single learning solution. It is targeted towards middle school students, high school students, and participants in workforce development programs.

The launch comes amid increasing emphasis on digital skills by educators and employers, alongside concerns about declining technological proficiency. U.S. federal data indicates a decrease in computer and information literacy scores among eighth graders between 2018 and 2023.

"Digital skills have become essential for education, employment, and daily life," said Becky Mann, vice president of content development at CompTIA. "Digital Literacy Pro helps learners build confidence and practical skills to use technology effectively, responsibly, and productively, while creating pathways to further education and career opportunities."

Key updates in V3 include enhanced digital citizenship and online professionalism modules, improved keyboarding and software application training with new interactive labs for tools like Microsoft Word and Excel, updated hardware simulations, and expanded instruction on AI concepts, tools, and responsible AI usage. The program also features a competency assessment and can serve as a pathway to CompTIA's Tech+ certification.
