Configura Establishes Dedicated Unit for AI Integration

Configura has launched a dedicated unit, Team Innovation & AI, to focus on the practical application of artificial intelligence within its software ecosystem. The initiative aims to streamline design workflows by identifying areas where AI can reduce manual administrative tasks for professionals in fields such as commercial interiors and material handling.

The company is currently prototyping features including contextual product search, dynamic reuse of project data, and AI-assisted image generation. Some of these tools, particularly those focused on visual communication, are scheduled for integration in the upcoming CET 17.0 software release this May.

According to Gustav V. Karlsson, head of the unit, the strategy prioritizes tools that support user decision-making rather than replacing professional expertise. The company emphasized that human validation remains a core requirement, noting that as AI output becomes more prevalent, the responsibility to verify data accuracy and operational safety remains with the human user.
