Configura launches software for material handling layout design

Swedish software company Configura has announced the launch of its new product, CET Essentials for Material Handling. This solution aims to accelerate warehouse layout design by utilizing manufacturer-neutral, dynamic product models.

The new software allows users to first design the warehouse space with the CET Essentials tool and then assign specific manufacturer product models using CET Material Handling. This separation enables faster conceptualization and more detailed planning.

CET Essentials offers features for placing material handling equipment and generating quotes, along with realistic 3D renderings and one-click part counting. Its intuitive interface lets users easily position and resize 2D and 3D digital models to match real products, thus speeding up the design process.

Configura's Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Rich Trahey, highlighted the software's benefits in addressing warehouse planning challenges. "Professionals in the industry have consistently expressed a need to quickly develop warehouse concepts from scratch and iterate on them with multiple stakeholders," Trahey stated. CET Essentials is intended to simplify this workflow.

The solution is particularly developed for third-party logistics (3PL) providers, integrators, smaller manufacturers, and warehouse managers. It provides a real-time bill of materials and facilitates easy placement of accurately scaled components within the warehouse space. The software also produces realistic renderings for decision-makers and allows for ordering with precise pricing and specifications. Configura plans to add more basic warehouse models to CET Essentials in the future.
