Configura Releases Software Updates Focused on Stability and Usability

Configura has released its May 2026 software updates, including CET 17.0 Major and Spec 9.0 Major. The primary focus of these releases is on strengthening the foundation of the Configura platform, aiming to enhance stability, performance, and reliability. These updates are designed to streamline daily work, particularly for users engaged in large and complex projects.

CET 17.0 incorporates core improvements across performance, precision, and reliability for the Configura platform. Navigation, snapping, measurements, calculations, and export functionalities have been refined for more consistent behavior, even as project complexity increases. Users can expect clearer load-error diagnostics, more robust catalogue downloads, and improved undo functionality to reduce workflow interruptions. Behind the scenes, updates to secure browser-based sign-in and infrastructure bolster overall platform reliability.

A significant new feature introduced is Web Viewer, which allows CET drawings to be shared and viewed in 3D directly through a web browser without requiring users to install the software. This feature is now available for Commercial Interiors and Kitchen & Bath users, with a beta test underway for Material Handling.

The release also includes industry-specific enhancements. Commercial Interiors benefits from refined architectural tools and improved visuals for smoother stakeholder communication. Kitchen & Bath gains improved accuracy in pricing validation and new NCS color support. For Material Handling users, the "Essential Mezzanine" Extension has been fully released, enabling structured design of multi-level warehouse environments.

Spec 9.0 aligns with the foundation-first approach, focusing on improving continuity and reducing manual work between design and specification. Enhanced support for project information, package counts, and expanded query imports ensures more reliable data flow from CET. Performance improvements also contribute to faster and smoother handling of large, image-heavy files, facilitating a more dependable transition to finalized documentation.
