Configura Releases Spec 8.0 Software with Performance Enhancements

Configura has released Spec version 8.0, a major update focused on enhancing software performance and usability. The new release leverages the .NET 8.0 framework, resulting in faster operation, improved stability, and better handling of complex workflows, such as those involving large product catalogs and extensive export options.

The update offers notable speed increases, including up to 20% faster startup times, 30% quicker save operations for large record sets, and 30% faster SIF file imports. Pricing lookups and the opening of large PMX files are also substantially faster. Spec 8.0 includes optimized DPI scaling for high-resolution screens, ensuring interface elements display correctly regardless of Windows text size settings.

CAD integration sees improvements with an overhauled CAD Settings dialog that handles thousands of layers more smoothly. A new 'Xref' tab provides users with greater control over importing external references. For Steelcase dealers, Spec 8.0 enhances workflow integration with the Hedberg system, supporting direct export in the latest Steelcase OCD format alongside legacy SIF files.

Configura has also addressed various bugs, including issues with corrupt configuration or XML files, Excel import problems, and display glitches on high-resolution monitors. These stability improvements aim to reduce user wait times and increase efficiency when working with data-heavy projects.
