Configura User of the Month: Jenny Garda Enhances Interior Design Process

Configura has named Jenny Garda, Senior Interior Designer and Workplace Strategist at RCF Group, as its User of the Month. Garda, who has 27 years of experience in interior design and a background in architecture, utilizes Configura's CET and Spec software to streamline the design and pricing process within her firm.

RCF Group, a company with 70 years of operational history, has transitioned from an installation business to a prominent furniture dealership. Garda attributes the company's sustained success to its commitment to client service and relationship building. RCF Group also participated in the beta testing phase of Configura's CET and Spec tools, a development Garda notes has significantly enhanced their operations.

Garda describes the Spec software as an essential tool for navigating complex pricing structures, dealer discounts, and the broader business landscape. She contrasts this with previous roles where pricing specifications were handled separately from the design process. The combined use of CET and Spec, she explains, seamlessly integrates the art of design with the science of pricing, empowering her as a designer.

The integration of these software tools has shifted the role of designers from merely "order-takers" to "order-makers." Through CET's 3D design capabilities, designers can now present comprehensive spatial visions to clients, going beyond basic product specifications. Garda also highlights features such as the F2 specification function and the use of tagging columns for efficient order management, from initial specification through to manufacturing and delivery.
