Consano Bio Raises Over $15 Million for Chronic Sciatica Treatment Development

Consano Bio, Inc., a clinical-stage biotechnology company, announced it has raised more than $15 million in an oversubscribed financing round. The proceeds are earmarked to fund the completion of the Phase 1 trial and the continued development of its therapeutic candidate, C-1101.

C-1101 is being developed as a potential first-in-class, disease-modifying therapeutic for chronic painful lumbosacral radiculopathy, commonly known as chronic sciatica. This condition affects the lower back and leg, causing persistent pain and discomfort.

Clinical data from the ongoing Phase 1 trial is anticipated in the first half of 2027. This data will be crucial in evaluating the safety and preliminary efficacy of C-1101 in human subjects.

Based in Burlington, Massachusetts, Consano Bio focuses on developing novel treatments for pain conditions. The successful financing provides the company with capital to advance its research and development pipeline.
