Consideo researches ultrafiltration for water heating efficiency
Consideo GmbH is participating in the ULTRA-F research project, investigating the suitability of ultrafiltration for lowering warm water temperatures while maintaining hygiene standards.

Consideo GmbH is involved in the ULTRA-F research project, which aims to determine if the ultrafiltration method can be used to reduce the temperature of warm water while ensuring hygienic conditions. The initiative addresses challenges in energy efficiency and water hygiene, particularly concerning the energy transition and potential temperature reductions in hot water systems.
The company is developing a qualitative cause-and-effect model based on workshops with various stakeholders. Additionally, Consideo is creating a quantitative simulation model to calculate potential carbon dioxide emission reductions, referencing common scenarios from bodies like the German Federal Environment Agency (Umweltbundesamt).
The ULTRA-F project is funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy and the DVGW (German Technical and Scientific Association for Gas and Water). The project duration is from November 2018 to December 2023. Consideo is participating as a subcontractor to the University Hospital Schleswig-Holstein.
Project partners include several leading German technical universities and research institutions, such as TU Dresden, the University Hospital Bonn, and the University Hospital Schleswig-Holstein.
