Construction Auditors Develop Automated Contract Review Software

Fort Hill Associates, a firm specializing in construction audits, has introduced Fort Hill LogiX, a software designed to automate the review of payment applications for construction projects. The system meticulously compares each line item against the project's contract, with every report being signed off by a Certified Construction Auditor.

The development of LogiX stemmed from Fort Hill Associates' own need to overcome inefficiencies in manual auditing. According to the company's founders, the increasing scale of projects and the complexity of contracts made manual reviews increasingly time-consuming and prone to errors. The software employs AI to read documents, while predefined rules test each entry against the owner's contract.

"We didn't set out to build software. We set out to stop losing sleep over what a manual review might miss," stated Ruhtab Sahota, Founder of Fort Hill LogiX. "Once the engine could cross-reference a contract clause against a payment line against a labor rate in a single pass, reliably, we realized we had built something every owner needed."

Fort Hill LogiX operates as a distinct, standalone entity. Fort Hill Associates developed the software and serves as its initial client. The company emphasizes the importance of sharing this technology to empower all project owners in managing their risks more effectively and gaining enhanced visibility into their projects' financial standing.
