Continental secures original equipment supply for Volkswagen ID. Cross
Volkswagen has approved Continental’s EcoContact 7 tires as factory-fitted equipment for its new ID. Cross electric SUV, with additional seasonal options available.

Continental has confirmed that its EcoContact 7 summer tires will be fitted as original equipment on Volkswagen's new all-electric ID. Cross compact SUV. The tires will be supplied in 17-, 18-, and 19-inch diameters. The supply agreement marks another collaboration between the tire manufacturer and the automotive group, focusing on energy efficiency and road noise reduction.
The EcoContact 7 utilizes several technical features designed specifically for electric mobility, including an internal structure aimed at reducing friction and an aerodynamic sidewall pattern to limit drag. A specialized tread pattern, referred to as Silent Pattern, is intended to lower rolling noise, addressing a common concern for electric vehicle occupants.
In addition to the summer tire fitment, Volkswagen has recommended specific alternatives for diverse climate conditions. The WinterContact TS 870 P is suggested for winter driving, while the 18-inch AllSeasonContact 2 is approved for year-round use. Continental has listed five approved tire specifications for the ID. Cross to support regional availability.
