Contrinex RFID Identifies Parts for Automated Washing Process

Contrinex Sensor GmbH is utilizing Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology to enhance process control within the automotive sector. The company employs RFID tags to identify individual workpiece carriers, enabling automated and optimized washing cycles.

The system features a Contrinex read-write module installed at the washing station. As a carrier approaches, the module reads data from its nylon-encased RFID tag. The customer's control system then identifies the carrier and initiates the appropriate washing program.

This technology ensures uninterrupted production and reduces costs associated with transponder replacement due to extended service life. The transponders are rated IP67 or IP69K, offering resistance to harsh chemicals, and their sensing distance of up to 42mm minimizes the risk of mechanical damage.

Contrinex's passive transponders are designed for durability, supporting up to 100,000 write cycles without requiring an internal power source. This solution provides the automotive industry with improved reliability and efficiency in manufacturing operations.
