Contrinex Sensors Ensure Correct Container Position on Hooklift Trucks
Contrinex Sensor GmbH has introduced rugged inductive sensors to verify the precise positioning of demountable containers on hooklift trucks. The system enhances safety and prevents errors in demanding environments.

Contrinex Sensor GmbH has launched robust inductive sensors designed to confirm the accurate placement of demountable containers on hooklift trucks. These sensors are crucial for ensuring safe loading and unloading, preventing incorrect locking mechanisms from engaging in harsh conditions.
Hooklift trucks utilize hydraulic systems to load and unload containers. Once a container is correctly positioned on the vehicle's load bed, interlock bolts engage its base. Contrinex sensors detect the container's exact position before the locking mechanism activates, guaranteeing proper alignment of the bolts. The system is engineered to withstand severe outdoor environments, including water, mud, ice, and salt, while minimizing the risk of human error.
A key advantage of the system is its reliable performance in demanding settings, such as construction and demolition sites where trucks operate year-round. The sensors are constructed from a single piece of AISI 303 (V2A) stainless steel and are hermetically sealed, meeting IP68/IP69K ratings. This construction provides high resistance to shock, vibration, and corrosion.
Two sensors, one M30-diameter and one M18-diameter, are mounted within the load bed structure and on the chassis side member. They detect the container's position within sensing distances of 10-20 mm, eliminating the risk of direct collision. When the container is in place, the vehicle's control system initiates the locking sequence. Standard PNP Normally Open interfaces and M12 connectors facilitate easy installation and maintenance.
Contrinex sensors from the Extreme range offer a cost-effective and dependable solution for this critical application, significantly improving the safety and efficiency of hooklift truck operations under challenging conditions.
