Contrinex Sensors Monitor Container Position on Hooklift Trucks
Contrinex has developed rugged inductive sensors to ensure correct positioning of demountable containers on hooklift trucks. The system prevents incorrect locking and enhances safety.

Contrinex Sensor GmbH has introduced robust inductive sensors designed to monitor the precise position of demountable containers on hooklift trucks. These sensors are critical for ensuring the proper function of safety mechanisms, such as locking bolts, before the container is secured.
The operating environments for hooklift trucks, including construction sites, are often demanding. Vehicles must withstand water, mud, ice, and salt year-round. Contrinex's Full Inox series sensors, constructed from a single piece of stainless steel (AISI 303), meet IP68/IP69K ratings, ensuring durability in these harsh conditions.
The sensor system works by detecting the container's correct position on the load bed before the vehicle's hydraulic locking bolts are activated. This prevents human error and ensures the container is securely fastened before the truck moves, which is crucial for heavy containers weighing up to 30 tons.
The sensors offer detection distances of up to 10-20 mm, depending on the model (M18 or M30), reducing the risk of mechanical collision. Contrinex states the solution is cost-effective and reduces maintenance needs, providing a reliable, fit-and-forget system for demanding applications.
