Corbett Irrigation is joining irrigation professionals nationwide in recognizing Smart Irrigation Month by encouraging homeowners and property managers to improve irrigation performance through routine system maintenance, accurate scheduling, and water-saving practices that support healthier landscapes.

Smart Irrigation Month is an annual public awareness campaign led by the Irrigation Association to promote efficient water use and sustainable irrigation practices. The initiative encourages property owners to evaluate their irrigation systems and adopt practices that reduce water waste while maintaining healthy landscapes. According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, up to half of outdoor irrigation water is wasted due to evaporation, wind, or runoff.

Brian Perwak, owner of Corbett Irrigation, emphasized that regular inspections and seasonal adjustments help reduce unnecessary water use while maintaining healthy landscapes. Many irrigation systems lose efficiency without obvious warning signs, such as misaligned sprinkler heads, broken nozzles, incorrect controller settings, and underground leaks.

These include system inspections, sprinkler repairs and adjustments, controller programming, and seasonal startup and winterization.
